Dr. Dolly Bharwani

Dr. Dolly Bharwani is an Orthodontist

Dr. Bharwani was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She obtained her Dental Degree from the University of Alberta. After dental school, she moved to Rochester, NY where she completed two post-graduate programs at the prestigious Eastman School of Dentistry. The first was a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and the second was a one-year fellowship in the diagnosis and treatment of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD). Dr. Bharwani then attended the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario for her orthodontic training where she completed a three-year Masters in Clinical Dentistry specialization in Orthodontics.

After living all across Canada and the USA, Dr. Bharwani finally had the opportunity to decide where she wanted to settle down. British Columbia was an easy decision. With the picturesque mountainous background and urban city life, living here provides the best of two worlds. We all love calling Vancouver our home!

In addition to private practice, Dr. Bharwani is also a part-time clinical instructor at UBC, educating younger dentists. She is also a board-certified specialist in Orthodontics (fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada) as well as a member in good standing of the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast and British Columbia Society’s of Orthodontists.

Why did I choose orthodontics? While growing up, I was often teased about my “buck teeth”. After seeking the help of my orthodontist, I entered into a complex treatment plan of growth modification treatment with headgear, followed by braces. This turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me, it changed my life. My facial profile changed, my teeth were straightened, I was no longer being made fun of, and for the first time, I was able to smile with confidence! And furthermore, I loved going to the orthodontist, it was a great experience. I realized very early in my life that this is what I wanted to do. I want to help other people to have the same confidence that I have when I smile.
